Bonney Art
Charles Daniel "Charlie" Bonney
Art was Charlie's life blood. What he could not say in life, he said in his work. He lived like a gypsy — no mortgage, no roots — in artsy homes and trailers he built with his own hands.
He mastered every medium he touched. Chalk pastel portraits made his living; wood, marble and epoxy filled his hands. Two of Flagstaff's city sculptures — the Lumberjack and the Buffalo — are his. His eye for the beauty, movement and likeness of the human body was uncanny.
In his final years he took up the airbrush, and painted some of his most amazing work.
